Kaya FM
KAYA FM : Discover South Africa

With a little bit of jazz music, American R & B and African music, Kaya FM radio refelects very well the open-mindedness of South Africa. Radio is one the best ways to discover a country. The vast territory that hosted the football World Cup in 2010 has multiple radio stations, often specialized in one musical type, in an ethnic group, or even in a religion. Kaya FM is a general-interest English speaking radio station broadcasted in all South Africa. In 1997, when the radio sector of the country opened up to privatization, this radio station was one of the first commercial radios to obtain a frequency. Today, after more than ten years of existence, Kaya FM has established itself as the favorite radio stations of south african listeners of all ages. Based in Johannesburg, this radio station discusses news, politics, the labor market, sports (especially football of course) and many talk shows involving listeners and values their daily lives. The music is a priority on this radio station, and it is very varied. Even if jazz has an important place, Kaya broadcasts also R & B and modern soul. Especially, you can discover all the traditional African music, blues music from Mali, afrobeat from Ghana, the Congolese rumba and Nigerian gospel. This programming allows Kaya FM to differentiate itself from the other African radio stations. It positions itself as the radio which provides, as its slogan says, the Good Music for Good Friends.

PODCAST NEWS
Guardian - Football Weekly
GUARDIAN FOOTBALL WEEKLY : put a British touch on your World Cup

Because it is not only in France that radio stations have deployed their major World Cup 2010 operations, the excellent Guardian Football Weekly becomes a daily during the World Cup and has been re-baptized World Cup Daily. Still hosted by James Richardson, a British sports journalist well known for his humor, the podcast lasts a half hour, during which guests exchange their opinions on the matches of the day and the performances by the various teams. The formula may certainly seem lacking in originality on paper, but that does not account for British composure, which the British keep up even when talking football. French people would certainly be surprised by the calm in this show, where it is more a question of analyses than critiques, where they prefer serious irony ... and where no insults are heaped on Raymond Domenech! Yes, yes, it is true! We like it less: It is calm ... very calm ... too calm? We are not accustomed to it! Who is it for? Fans of football and British humor: the (perhaps unique) opportunity to bring together two passions in one podcast.
